Шмуэль: А народ, который в нем, он вывел и положил (וַיָּשֶׂם) под пилы и бороны железные, и под железные секиры; и таскали их по кирпичам улиц.
Диврей ѓа-ямим: А народ, что в нем, вывел и пилил (וַיָּשַׂר) пилами и боронами железными и секирами.
Комментарии к тексту Шмуэль-II, 12:31 (исходному):
Арамейский перевод Йонатана: “И пилил пилами, боронами… и таскал по улицам”.
Греческий перевод: “И передал их к пилам и к боронам… и к изготовлению кирпичей”.
Раши: Это виды пыток.
Радак: Это казни. “По кирпичам” — сжигал их в кирпичной печи.
Ральбаг: Да, это жестоко, а нужно это было, чтобы убоялись окрестные народы и не воевали с Израилем.
Абарбанель: то же, что Радак.
Греческий перевод Диврей ѓа-ямим I 20:3
“И пилил их пилами и боронами”.

Chronicles now includes grisly details of the torture and mass execution of the inhabitants of Ammon. If voluntary recognition of the sovereignty of LORD’S anointed is not forthcoming, then acknowledgment must be extracted by force. A people misled by its leaders has to pay a terrible price (cf. 2 Chron. 25.11-12). But before the conclusion is drawn that C endorses acts of barbarity in the LORD’s name, the evidence to follow in 1 Chronicles 21-22 must be weighed up: the reader has now been given ample evidence that David is indeed the one who has ‘shed much blood’ and has thereby disqualified himself from building the Temple (1 Chron. 22.8); there is also the question whether David has fully appreciated the sacral nature of these wars, precisely the point at issue in his census in 1 Chronicles 21.
