Eastern Gate of Jerusalem PDF Печать E-mail

The Meeting Place has discovered a neighborhood in Jerusalem which we didn’t visit before. It is in close proximity to the Jewish district of Givat Tsarfatit and, adjacent to it, the Arab village of Shuafat. Located there is the land that was bought out by the Jews way before the War of Independence and which they had to abandon fleeing from the pogroms in 1948. For a long time, this land remained ownerless. The renowned activist Aryeh King, who is fighting for the restoration of the rights of Jews to their ownership, is now engaged in legitimization of this land. A group of young people came there to found a new city district, the Shaar Hamizrah, the Eastern Gate of Jerusalem.
